The Financial Regulatory Authority: “Tamweel” Holds the First Position in the Real Estate Finance Market

The Financial Regulatory Authority’s report stated that Tamweel for Real Estate Finance secured the first place during the first half of the current year. The company’s results were approved, confirming its top ranking among real estate finance companies in 2019, and it maintained its market leadership through the end of the first half of 2020.

The company achieved new financing worth EGP 283 million, capturing 25% of the market share among real estate finance companies. Tamweel, specialized in real estate finance, announced a plan to expand in the Egyptian market and diversify its financing portfolio over the next five years, aiming to spread the culture of real estate finance across all segments of society.

Last year, the company issued financing worth approximately EGP 543 million, achieving a 62% growth in its financing portfolio balance, which reached EGP 1.195 billion compared to EGP 670 million in 2018. This positioned the company as the market leader in real estate finance volume in Egypt, with a 21% share of the total market financing. It was also the first real estate finance company to break the EGP 500 million barrier in a single year, during 2019.

Mohamed El-Kahky, Managing Director of Tamweel for Real Estate Finance, stated that the company continues its plan to improve performance and increase its market share by offering diverse financing programs tailored to various segments of society. He added that, in recent times, the company has started addressing the developments of the COVID-19 crisis by providing innovative digital solutions to simplify access to financing services and expanding its digital transformation process.
